On November 1, the Kick-off Meeting for "Kindergarten STEM Education Project Based on Deep Learning" hosted by Teacher Zhang Yajie was successfully held through the Tencent meeting. A total of 51 principals and teachers from three kindergartens who participated in the project joined in the forum.
At the meeting, Zhang Yajie first introduced the construction of the practice model of STEM education in kindergartens, shared the framework of project-based STEM activities, and explained some problems in the STEM activities done in kindergartens last semester. Teachers discussed the problems encountered in STEM activities. Next, the kindergartens shared the STEM-related cases they did last semester. Teacher Wu Le from the experimental kindergarten shared the case of "Zipline" and the gains of children, teachers, and parents in the activity. Teacher Shi Shuhui from Henan University Kindergarten shared the case of "Kite" and reflected on the activity. Finally, Teacher Zhang Yajie made a concluding speech and announced a new round of STEM research. Based on the UGS Alliance, Teacher Zhang Yajie has cooperated with kindergartens to carry out research based on projects for a long time. Through theory and practice, she has promoted more in-depth exchanges between universities and kindergartens.
